Swedish architects Wingårdhs have unveiled images of the Emporia shopping centre, the first building of a large masterplan comprising residential and office blocks in Malmö, Sweden. The building (designed after Wingårdhs won a competition for the project) includes three floors of retail spaces grouped together around bright shades of blue, green and red, a navigation device that is extended into the adjoining car park. In addition, the shopping centre features distinctive large-scale details such as a void area in the bronze glass structure and a rooftop park made up of lawns, terraces and pavilions.
