Following the success of the initial design ventures between Opening Ceremony and adidas Originals (which The Style Examiner reviewed), a third collaboration resulted in a collection for autumn/winter 2013 that is now available in stores. Inspired by the worlds of basketball and rock climbing as perceived from an urban viewpoint, the range features a deep-hued colour palette of petrol blue, sky blue, maroon as well as prints of mountains in fabrics that are worked to create a textured and multi-dimensional effect in the form of quilting or fleece.
Overall, this is a strong collection comprising shirts, trousers, T-shirts, bomber jackets, colour-block sweatshirts and trainers. Garments that particularly stood out for The Style Examiner include the fleece workwear-inspired sky blue jacket, the Big Sur Rock printed dress shirt and matching pants with adjustable buckled belt and zippered side pockets, the short-sleeve honeycomb knit sweater with sleeve-to-shoulder buckle strap and the Black Rock printed quilted bomber jacket.
