Govan Originals New Men’s Shoes in Collaboration with Harris Tweed Hebrides

Men’s footwear brand Govan Originals has partnered with fabric producer Harris Tweed Hebrides to design four shoe models that will be unveiled at Pitti Uomo on 18 June 2013. The initial output of the collaboration between the two Scottish manufacturers will consist of using Harris Tweed fabric designed exclusively by Harris Tweed Hebrides for Govan’s Logie 88 style for Spring/Summer 2014. The companies have worked together to select weaves that complement Govan’s footwear designs and each pair of handmade shoes will feature the Harris Tweed mark.

Govan Originals were founded in Glasgow by Kevin Sefton and Diana Currie, and their inaugural shoe collection was unveiled in January 2013. Their creative design and appreciation of craftsmanship garnered a nomination for this year’s Scottish Fashion Awards, whereas Harris Tweed Hebrides (responsible for the production of over 90 percent of Harris Tweed) has won numerous prizes since it was founded in 2007, including the UK Fashion & Textile Awards, UK Textile Business of the Year and UK Manufacturer of the Year.
