Karl Lagerfeld is reportedly opening his first store in London as part of a global expansion plan that could see as many as 100 own-label stores opening worldwide within the next few years. The London store is rumoured to take over the space currently occupied by footwear brand Kurt Geiger in South Molton Street, close to Oxford Street and Bond Street, and is expected to open by the end of the year. The Karl Lagerfeld label has been available in the UK through online retailers and in department stores such as Selfridges and Harrods.
Lagerfeld, who designs for Chanel and Fendi, unveiled the first Karl Lagerfeld store in Paris in February 2013. Another store is scheduled to open this month in Amsterdam and a second Paris store will open in the Marais district in May.
