Christian Lacroix to Design Schiaparelli Couture Line

Following the rumours that Marco Zanini is to take on the role of artistic director of the renowned fashion house Schiaparelli (owned by Diego Della Valle, Tod’s group chairman and CEO since 2006), it has been announced that Christian Lacroix is to design a one-off 15-piece couture collection for the label as a way to honour the legacy of Elsa Schiaparelli.

The collection will be unveiled in July 2013 during the Paris haute couture shows at 21 Place Vendôme (the location of Schiaparelli’s original workshop). Each piece designed by Lacroix will be a reinterpretation of a Schiaparelli’s creation in a format that will be followed by a series of contributions from different artists, all taking place at the Schiaparelli maison.
