South Korean design studio Maezm has created ‘Fortuitous Variation’, a collection of furniture displayed in fashion stores for Samsung with the intention to reinterpret traditional Korean design from a contemporary perspective. The pieces are made from reclaimed western-style and classic Korean furnishings modified to feature additional legs and materials, this becoming hybrid metaphors of function and design, and old and new.
