Dutch denim brand G-Star RAW has announced the controversial appointment of Peter Hamelinck as its new creative director. The news was met with some criticism because, although Hamelinck studied Fashion at the Netherlands’ ArtEZ Institute of the Arts and was editorial photographer and art director for a while, he has spent the last ten years working in advertising and social media and not designing fashion or accessories.
