For its Spring/Summer 2013 menswear and womenswear collections, GANT (the Swedish clothing brand of American heritage founded in New Haven in 1949) drew inspiration from coastal settings around the world (including landscape as diverse as the beaches of Brazil, prints popular in India, or to the nautical preppy look of eastern Long Island) to deliver smart, casual, and highly wearable pieces in a diverse colour palette.
Fabrics include madras (the lightweight fabric invented in India that has become associated with American sportswear), crisp cotton poplin, linen, seersucker and over-dyed canvas in classic garments such as Oxford shirts, shorts, single and double breasted blazers, waxy jackets and chinos.
