Yayoi Kusama for Louis Vuitton at Selfridges

To celebrate Louis Vuitton’s new accessories collection in partnership with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, major installations are taking place in seven key department stores worldwide, the latest of which opened at Selfridges in London on 24 August 2012.

All Selfridges’ shop windows facing Oxford Street have been taken over by Kusama’s trademark polka dots and models, reflecting a similar design that the 84-year old artist also incorporated throughout the latest range of Louis Vuitton’s apparel, handbags, travel bags, shoes, sunglasses, and other accessories. Inside SelfridgesConcept Store (an ever-changing shop-in-shop featuring new collaborations), nearly every surface available (quite literally, from floor to ceiling) of the metal pavilion structure is adorned with Kusama’s organic dotted patterns and feature five large pumpkin-shaped displays conceived by the artist.

The display can be viewed until 19 October 2012 at Selfridges in London.
