Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen to Take London by Storm in 2012

To celebrate the cultural and creative potential and achievements of the UK capital in 2012, British fashion labels Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney will host presentations during February’s London Fashion Week.

In addition to the catwalk show, Alexander McQueen has announced the Spring 2012 opening of its McQ flagship store in a Georgian townhouse at 14 Dover Street. The four-storey retail space will span across 273 sq m and house womenswear, menswear and accessories. It is the first time McQ is to show at London Fashion Week since its launch; the mainline Alexander McQueen collection will continue to show at Paris Fashion Week.

Taking place on 18 February, McCartney’s event showcases a one-off collection by McCartney that will roll out through the designer’s stores, online and select wholesale points worldwide in May. In addition, McCartney’s next global line will be shown as scheduled on 5 March in Paris.

2012 also sees McCartney celebrate her World of Stella at London’s department store Selfridges in Oxford Street between 26 January and 14 February. This will include the unveiling of a new fragrance, ready-to-wear, accessories, kids, lingerie, sunglasses and adidas by Stella McCartney collections. Next year will also witness Stella McCartney’s global achievements as Creative Director for adidas Team GB for the Summer 2012 Olympics. In addition, February will see the opening of her second London boutique, located on Brompton Cross, which will include the first ever Stella McCartney Kids freestanding store.
