Lacoste Launches New Range of Shoes to Celebrate 80th Anniversary

To commemorate its 80th anniversary, Lacoste has launched a new range of footwear that attempt to reinvent and celebrate the symbols, materials and codes that have represented the brand’s style since tennis champion and brand founder René Lacoste (1904-1996) designed the original Lacoste tennis shoe.

The anniversary range includes the René Lacoste OG (with redesigned canvas that recaptures the original fine gauge herringbone material), the René Crafted Perf (a hand-crafted version of the René Lacoste sneaker that features unlined leather uppers, a herringbone perforation panel that evokes the original canvas used in 1963, a leather in-sock with the 80th anniversary logo designed by Peter Saville, and a crafted leather sole with embossed crocodile detailing), and the René Crafted (that includes many of the elements of the René Crafted Perf, but with a dark, supple, unlined leather upper).
